STREET FOD AFFAIR

‘Street Food Affair’ is a free event taking place at the beautiful and historic Bonded Warehouse, a short walk from Stourbridge town centre. Following on from the success of the first event in June which was attended by 1000 people we are inviting people to join us again on Friday 7th July 5-9pm for another night of amazing food, drinks, entertainment and company.

This month we are “Feeling Peaky” as part of the Black Country Festival and we will be joined by Sadler’s Brewing Company with their Peaky Blinders Black IPA Ale and ST Cafe will be providing a late 19th century menu of pie and mask and faggots and pea’s. We would love people to dress in support of our “Feeling Peaky” theme, but those who don’t wish to are still more than welcome.

Other traders who will be there on the night include The Indian Lunchbox, The Pork Society,  Gresko Bohdi, Nanny P’s, Greens Vegan Catering, Sidewalk Grill , Shake Waffle & Roll,  Gelato Palazzo, The Little Gin Company,  Trailer Made Cocktails, The Prosecco Bicycle and the Half Penny Green Cider Company.

At each of our Street Food Affair events we try and support a local charity. We are proud that our July event will support the amazing ‘Leslie's Care Packages For The Homeless’ which is a voluntary group supporting and providing much needed provisions to rough sleepers, homeless and disadvantaged people across the black country. The charity will be on hand throughout the evening to raise awareness of homelessness and raise much needed funds to support homeless people. We would be most grateful if people coming to the event would consider bringing with them a small donation such as a tin of food or toiletries for the collection point. Further information about the charity at https://www.facebook.com/LesliesCarePackagesfortheHomeless/

We have a  selection of fantastic musical talent to entertain you organised by talented local musician Esther Turner, and we will be joined on the night by GC Murals who will be creating some artwork live and will have a selection of artwork for you to purchase. You can also browse original artwork or walk away with a unique find from our mini art, craft and vintage flea market.

Further information about Street Food Affair is available at www.streetfoodaffair.co.uk or www.facebook.com/StreetFoodAffair/

TUES 25th JULYCRADLEY HEATH LIBRARYMultistory and Cradley Heath Library present a special film screening of Chains, Dogs & CHAOS as part of the Black Country Festival (July 2017).

Set in Cradley Heath, once the world’s largest producer of industrial chains, and also home to the Staffordshire Bull Terrier breed, 'Chains, Dogs & CHAOS', a film produced and directed by documentary-maker, Sara Tibbetts, reveals a series of remarkable and interconnected stories.

Through her research, Sara discovered that her grandfather was an important figure in the local Cradley Heath community. He was both the local doctor and the first President of the Cradley Heath and Old Hill District Amateur Operatic Society (CHAOS). Over one 100 years later, Sara finds that the Society is still very much at large and proudly holds the title of the longest established amateur operatic society in the Black Country.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Multistory and a former employee of chainmaking company Griffin Woodhouse Ltd (who feature in the film!) There is also an opportunity to share photographs and stories over refreshments.
